Pre Contract:
- Client Assessment – Each client’s specific needs are assessed and evaluated on the basis of Risk Tolerance, Fiscal year requirements, Budgeting needs, Cash flow constraints, Goals and desired Time frame for hedging activities.
- Customized Procurement Strategy – Using the Client Assessment as a guide, a hedging strategy is developed. The plan includes a procurement schedule, target limits, and storage management (for natural gas where available).
- Prepare and Issue Custom RFPs – Detailed proposals are requested from suppliers. These are intended to be customer specific proposals based on the criteria established for the custom strategy.
- Evaluate proposals –
Apples-to-apples price comparisons considering all the components.
Comparing contract clauses as even a small change -- to a supplier's risk assessment, for example -- can affect the client's price.
Compare hedging flexibility, and determining which Supplier is the best match for the specific needs of Client
Customized contract terms; i.e. if the sale of a facility is anticipated, a clause allowing that should be included.
- Award Contracts to winning bidder taking into consideration the items above.
Post Contract:
- Client Grouping – Client are added to similar profile groups for our daily price monitoring.
- Market Data – PRI Obtains market data on a daily basis for both Gas and Electricity for the various markets as well as some client specific pricing for larger portfolios.
- Market Analysis – Trading team analysts review market and determine whether action is required on behalf of client portfolio and groups on a daily basis.
- Procurement - When the market presents an opportunity hedges are executed in a timely manner on behalf of our clients.
- Reporting - Clients are apprised of every action and receive continuous updates of market conditions and hedge positions.
